The American real estate investment company Hines and Hyundai Marine & Fire Insurance have established an asset management company, Hyundai Alternative Investment Management (HAIM), which is expanding its footprint in the rental housing market. HAIM recently acquired a rental housing project with 76 units in Doksan-dong, Geumcheon-gu, Seoul for KRW 26 billion. This is the second case of Hines investing in rental housing in Korea, following last year’s acquisition of a rental property located in Sinchon in partnership with Mastern Investment Management.
