Privacy Policy

SPI(Seoul Property Insight) (hereinafter referred to as the “Company”) takes the user’s privacy seriously. In order to protect the user’s personal information and rights, the company complies with related acts and its subordinate statutes such as the Personal Information Protection Act. Amendment of the privacy policy will be notified through the website’s notice or a separate notice.

Article 1 Personal Information Collection and Purpose of Use

The company shall utilize personal information for the following purposes. Information provided by the user shall not be used outside of these purposes, and if purpose of use changes, permission must first be obtained.

  • Member management: Provision of membership service, personal identification, prevention fraudulent use of rogue members, prevention of unauthorized use, confirmation of intent for joining as a member, confirmation of legal representative’s consent when collecting personal information of children under the age of 14, handling of complaints.
  • Settlements on performance of contract and service fees: Provision of content, purchase and payment, delivery of goods or billing statements and others, user authentication for financial transactions and financial services, record of service use.
  • Development of new service and utilization of marketing: Demographic characteristics, frequency of access, form of service use, reports and statistics on members’ use of services.

Article 2 Types of Personal Information and Collection Method

The company is collecting the following personal information under the user’s consent for seamless service provision.

  1. During membership registration
    • Required information: Name, email, password.
    • Optional information: Phone number, address, age, gender, occupation, affiliation.
    • During the process of using paid service, personal information such as credit card information, bank account information, cell phone information, payment records, etc. that is required for processes such as payment may be collected.
  2.  During use of service
    • Device information, cookie, basic statistics for the use of service may be collected in a form that prevents a specific individual from being identified.

Article 3 Consent to Collection of Personal Information

The company is receiving consent regarding the collection of user’s personal information on the membership registration page. If user clicks the “agree” button for terms of service and privacy policy during membership registration, the user shall be deemed to have agreed to the collection of personal information.

Article 4 Period of Processing and Retaining Personal Information

The company shall retain and process personal information of the user for a certain period set by related acts and subordinate statutes. Once this period expires, said information shall be destroyed without delay. The period of processing and retaining personal information are as follows.

  • Records of payment or supply of goods: 5 years (Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce)
  • Records on withdrawal of contract or subscription: 5 years (Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce)
  • Records on consumer complaints or dispute settlement: 3 years (Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce)
  • Records on collection/process, and use of information: 3 years (Act on the Utilization and Protection of Credit Information)
  • Records on sign/advertisement: 6 months (The Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce)
  • Log record of users such as internet data detecting the place of user connection: 3 months (The Protection of Communications Secret Act)

Article 5 Consignment of Personal Information Processing

For the provision of seamless service, the company shall entrust the handling of user’s personal information to the third party specified below. Outside of this case, under no circumstance shall the company use personal information or provide personal information to a third party beyond the range notified on the ‘Consent to Collection of Personal Information’. The company shall not separately store personal information provided by a third party.

  • Payment gateway (PG) company for the paid service: purchase of paid service, payment cancellation, provision of information for payment methods (mobile payment, credit card, bank transfer, etc.) required for refund, etc.

Article 6 Provision of Personal Information to Third Party

The company shall not use the user’s information or provide user’s information to a third party beyond the range obtained from the user’s agreement when collecting personal information. This shall not apply if user’s consent is given or if any of the following cases apply:

  1. When the personal information is necessary to implement the service contract and it is apparently difficult to gain agreement in the usual way due to economic/technical reasons.
  2. When settlement of fees from service provision is required.
  3. Even if it is in accordance with related law, or requested by an administrative or investigative agency for administrative or investigation purposes, the personal information of the client shall not be provided unconditionally, and as stipulated in the law, the personal information of the client shall be provided in accordance with the legal procedures, such as the case of a warrant or the seal of the head of the agency.

Article 7 Procedures and Methods of Destroying Personal Information

After the purpose of collecting and using personal information is accomplished, the company shall destroy the information without delay. The procedure and method of destruction are as follows.

  1. Destruction procedure
    The information entered by the member for membership shall be transferred to a separate DB after the purpose has been accomplished (in the case of paper, separate document). According to the internal policy and other relevant laws and regulations, it shall be saved for a certain period and be destroyed. Personal information transferred to a separate database shall not be used for any other purpose other than that held by law.
  2. Destruction method
    Personal information stored in the form of electronic files shall be deleted using a technical method that cannot reproduce the record. Personal information printed on paper shall be destroyed by shredder or incineration.

Article 8 Installment and Operation of the Automatic Personal Information Collection Device, and Cases of Rejection

The company uses cookies. A cookie is a tiny text file that is sent to your browser by the server used to run the website and is stored on your computer’s hard disk. Cookies will be used to provide personalized services based on user’s tastes and interests, browsing experience, number of visits, etc. For the user’s convenience, most websites recommend users to allow cookie data to be saved and read.

User has the option of storing cookies. By setting options in the web browser, user can allow all cookies, check each time a cookie is saved, or refuse to save all cookies.

Methods to change cookie settings are as follows. In the case of blocking cookies, there may be difficulties in receiving personalized services.

Article 9 Administrative Measures for Protecting Personal Information

The company shall devise the following measures in order to protect the user’s personal information. The personnel that deals with personal information is strictly limited to personnel that are performing personal information management and those who cannot bypass processing personal information while conducting business. Compliance of these policies is emphasized through regular training of said personnel. To protect personal information, Seoul Property Insight designates a personal information manager. Article 10 Obligation of Notification

This privacy policy takes effect on Apr 1, 2021. In the case of alteration, users will be notified at least 7 days before such change through the website’s notice or a separate notice.
