The fund surplus from the Housing and Urban Fund has been used for alternative investment since 2016. Mirae Asset Management and Korea Investment and Securities were selected to invest in real estate for a smooth introduction to the market. Starting with Center Point Gwanghwamun in 2016, investment continued with Yeouido IFC, Signature Tower Euljiro, Samsung C&T headquarters in Seocho, Yeouido Hana Financial Investment Building, among other assets. Overseas investment began in 2017, with the most recent Samsung SRA Management local affiliate AEW Capital partnering with Aberdeen Asset Management for a joint venture (JV) investment.
