The Government of Singapore Investment Corporation (GIC), a big player in the Korean commercial real estate market, is considered the first generation of domestic logistics center investors. In the early 2000s, GIC began investment in logistics centers by creating a joint venture with Prologis, an American logistics investment firm. When Prologis exited the Korean market after the global financial crisis, GIC acquired the full share of those assets.
